Selected-Gems to promote your own journey.
People often arrive here while questioning where they are headed — or why the life they are living no longer fits. This website grew out of that same question.
I am Mickey. At some point, it became clear to me that living on autopilot — following expectations, roles, and borrowed definitions of success — no longer felt sustainable. I began questioning my thoughts and habits, as well as the structures and relationships that shaped them.
What started as an inward journey gradually turned into writing. Not as answers, but as reflections. Not as guidance, but as collected insights — gems — formed in the process of unlearning and re-authoring my own life.
Although my work touches on spiritual themes, it is grounded in lived experience. I write as someone who does not romanticize healing, nor reject complexity. My aim is not transcendence, but clarity. Not perfection, but agency.
Inspiring creative work
“You know it’s hard to be yourself,
Free yourself, to see yourself.
When all around you there are lies just to get you.
Spies just to get you, to buy so they can get you.
There are cameras in the sky, lasers in our living rooms.
There are wolves watching, wearing sheep’s costumes.
It’s enough to make you go crazy.
It’s enough to make you mad.
It’s enough to make you go crazy.
And, I’m amazed I haven’t yet."
In a nutshell
During my early adult years I followed a path that appeared coherent from the outside. I studied law, worked in event management, and built a career that met expectations – until my inner world collapsed under that structure.
What followed was a period of profound disorientation. A diagnosis, intensive treatment, and years of confronting what happens when trust erodes in your own mind and body. That experience forced me to question everything I had taken for granted — including authority, health, and identity.
Over time, I shifted from compliance to discernment. From outsourcing understanding to reclaiming it. My recovery did not come from a single solution, but from learning how to listen, integrate, and respond differently.
Writing became part of that process — a way to keep insight alive, to notice patterns, and to remain in relationship with myself. This journey is ongoing and ever evolving. The work here reflects that: not a finished story, but a living one. As I gain wisdom, my perspective shifts, allowing insights and dreams to expand.
What I offer is not instruction, but articulation. Not certainty, but presence.
